Description

This role suits someone who is practical, flexible and team-focused. You should be happy to work across the full range of workshop tasks, from diagnostics and major repairs to routine servicing, brakes, tyres and WoF inspections. We specialise in the service, diagnostics and repair of European vehicles, particularly German brands including BMW, Audi, VW, Mercedes, Skoda and Mini. As part of the global Bosch Car Service network, we provide our technicians with world-class diagnostic systems, technical support and training through Robert Bosch. We are looking for an experienced automotive technician with relevant NZ qualifications and experience with European vehicles. You will need strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, as well as a current WoF certificate. You must take pride in producing high-quality workmanship and be honest, reliable, professional and a true team player.

SB European is seeking a skilled Technician for a full-time permanent position or a minimum two-year contract, working Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 4:00pm (42.5 hours per week). In this role, you will be expected to perform accurate diagnostic assessments using both electronic tools and your own natural senses to "think outside the box" and complete repairs to the highest standards of quality and safety. We offer a competitive hourly rate and show our appreciation through various monetary means when traditional bonuses aren't possible. The ideal candidate is personable, open to feedback and genuinely passionate about the automotive industry. To be successful, you must have two to five years of proven experience in the lightweight automotive industry, specifically working on European cars; while experience with VW, Audi and Skoda is an advantage, it is not essential. You need to be able to demonstrate use of diagnostic skills and critical thinking as well as strong computer skills, a "can do" attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Applicants must hold a valid New Zealand driver's license with at least two years of driving experience and must currently be in the country with New Zealand citizenship, residency or a valid two-year work visa.
