Kawerau Automotive Mechanics is a locally owned and trusted workshop providing high-quality automotive servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and WOF inspections for our community. With continued growth and a strong customer base, we’re looking for a qualified, experienced, and reliable automotive mechanic to join our friendly team. About the role: you will work across a wide variety of vehicles and tasks including general servicing and routine maintenance; diagnostics and fault finding; engine, brake, suspension, and electrical repairs; WoF inspections (authorisation preferred but not essential); preparing customer vehicles for roadworthiness and safety; maintaining workshop standards and delivering excellent customer service. No two days will be the same. You’ll enjoy variety, responsibility, and a supportive team environment. We’re looking for someone who has an Automotive Trade Qualification (NZQA Level 4 or equivalent); proven workshop experience; strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills; a positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and within a small team; a full NZ driver’s licence and a WoF authority (advantageous but we can support the right candidate to obtain it).
