Senior mechanic/ diagnostician

Waipu Motors in Bream Bay is a busy, well-equipped workshop known for high-quality work and customer service. We seek an experienced/intermediate mechanic for vehicle and trailer WOF inspections, servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on all vehicle makes and models. The ideal candidate must have a WOF inspection certificate, 4+ years of experience, and a Level 4 Certificate in Automotive Engineering. A great attitude, work ethic, communication skills, a clean driver's license, and the ability to pass police vetting are essential. Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently while keeping the work area tidy are important. Adaptability to paperless job cards (MechanicDesk) and basic computer skills are required, with knowledge of all vehicle makes and models, especially European vehicles, being beneficial. we offer work hours are from Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 4:30, carpooling from Whangarei, training and development opportunities, a fun, safe, and supportive work environment. Morning tea and Friday lunch are provided, along with staff and family events throughout the year. Our wellness programme includes a paid mental health hour per fortnight and subsidised night classes. Note: This is not a trainee or apprenticeship position.

Must have a current WOF Inspectors authority, have the ability to work unsupervised, diagnose technical and electronic issues in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, with the ability to guide and train junior technicians when called upon to do so. Applicants must be capable of adapting to servicing not only the Mitsubishi vehicles we specialise in but also the many and varied makes and models our workshop handles.
