In 2021 MTA acquired Auxo, a company on a mission to become the go-to automotive software supplier in Australasia. Auxo has made great progress, with its popular cloud-based software webSAM, as well as desktop solutions SAM and Orion, already across half of all workshops in New Zealand. 
 

The Collision Repair Association membership includes qualified Panelbeaters, auto refinish painters and all other car collision repair tradesman and allied businesses.  

The Association aims to provide quality and safety assurance to customers by assuring its members’ work meets its own high standards.

From 1 March 2024, the Collision Repair Association (CRA) officially integrated as a dedicated chapter within the MTA family.

MTA is a ‘Terawatt’-level sponsor of EVolocity, a not-for-profit charity organisation helping to educate New Zealanders about the benefits of EVs, as well as nurturing students’ interest in tech and engineering through workshops including design, welding, and programming - as well as by holding races and competitions.

Triton Hearing works to break down barriers around hearing devices and helps to make them accessible for everyone. As an MTA partner, Triton offers our members free hearing checks – and MTA also sponsors Triton Hearing’s annual Great Big Hearing Check campaign.

MTA is proud to be one of the organisations partnering with the Women in Automotive collective. Recent recipients of a 2023 Inspiring Futures Foundation grant, the collective’s ambition is to increase participation of women across the industry, from apprentices to corporate level - as well as increase advancement of women into senior leadership roles.

MTA is committed to supporting diverse talents in our community and that includes women in drag racing. Sponsoring New Zealand’s fastest woman was a great opportunity to support the achievements of women in this field who make up only 16% of the automotive industry, and to break barriers and promote inclusivity within the racing community.

The honoured title of New Zealand’s fastest woman belongs to Tamara Silk, a Kapiti-born superstar who has been competing in drag racing competitions since the early age of nine. Her first taste of speed at Meremere was in a purpose-built drag car with a lawnmower engine, that could reach speeds of over 100 – 110kph.

Drag racing has been a big part of Tamara’s life, having both parents heavily involved in the sport and Cory, her brother, taking part. Tamara’s father, Robin Silk, was a legend in racing, and before passing last year, got to see his daughter become New Zealand’s fastest woman, taking out the title by beating Karen Hayes’ 2014 record with a time of 5.853 seconds over the quarter mile.

Tamara’s tenacity and drive are to be commended.
