As a Small Engine Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for servicing and repairing small engines, including lawn mowers, chainsaws and generators. Key requirements include: full NZ drivers licence (essential), previous experience in small engine repair ( advantageous), fork lift operation ability, strong work ethic and attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The Rural Mechanic is a rural workshop, based in Waikite Valley and Central to both Taupo and Rotorua. Business hours are Hours are 8 am-5 pm, Monday to Friday. We are a family inclusive and friendly team and are happy to negotiate hours to suit family commitments. We are looking for a qualified mechanic and/or a qualified vehicle technician (AVI). Diagnosing mechanical faults, performing vehicle and machinery repairs and performing scheduled maintenance. You must have at least 3 years of experience in the automotive industry or hold a relevant qualification. An Authorized Vehicle Inspector (AVI) qualification would be an advantage but not essential. A full Class 1 driver's license is essential. Own tools must be provided (Tool Allowance provided). A good work ethic and a positive attitude are required. Excellent communication skills are a MUST, Full-time and part-time positions are available. Must have New Zealand Residency.
