Our current WOF Technician is awaiting a knee replacement and going to be needing two mths off and is also going to part time while he awaits his surgery date which is supposed to be May or June. This leaves us with no WOF Technician we have an apprentice and another mechanic who has just come from overseas. We will work in with what you want, good pay, good company. Call for more details. We are seeking an experienced qualified Heavy Diesel Automotive Technician or someone with a relevant trade qualification and/or experience. We are looking for someone with the following qualities: have a broad range of knowledge with servicing and repairs to most vehicles, be able to complete tasks to a high standard in a timely manner, have computer skills, be confident with a scan tool, a solid work ethic, reliable and punctual, self-motivated and the ability to work unsupervised, a full drivers’ licence, including Classes 2 – 5, or the ability to gain them.

Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) We seek a technician to maintain equipment and ensure that facilities are fit for purpose within the Automotive/Engineering Trades Be a part of a dynamic organisation charged with reforming Aotearoa New Zealand’s tertiary education system – placing ākonga (learners) at the very centre. About the role: You will be based at our Heavy Vehicle workshop and is a key member of our team being a conduit for ākonga (learners) in the safe use of automotive equipment during their learning journey. Your primary responsibilities will involve prepping materials and machinery for class/workshop, repairs and maintenance of the automotive training equipment, implementation of the health and safety plan within the automotive area, housekeeping for the workshops, maintaining stock level supplies, and supporting kaimahi (staff) and ākonga (learners) in the correct and safe use of equipment and machinery while working in the workshops. You will liaise with external suppliers and other external stakeholders as required. About you: recent experience in the automotive trades with skills in welding, engineering, and heavy vehicle experience preferred. You will need to have demonstrable knowledge of automotive modern electronics. You will need to be an organised and approachable person who enjoys working with a wide range of people. Experience in supporting and mentoring young people would be an advantage. You need to have demonstrable health and safety best practices and enjoy being part of a team who support each other.
