Summit 4WD Ltd, a well-established and centrally located workshop, is seeking a fully qualified mechanic to join our supportive team. We're looking for someone with at least five years' experience in vehicle repairs and servicing, who is confident in diagnostics, possesses fast problem-solving and time management skills, be reliable and be able to work as part of a team. This full-time role (Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm) involves vehicle servicing, restoration, diagnostics, and electrical work, as well as preparing quotes and maintaining customer relationships. We're interested in a technician with high standards, a strong work ethic, and a passion for more than just part replacement. You must be an NZ resident or have a valid NZ work visa. You need to have a full driver's licence. A current WOF authority is an advantage.

This is a full-time, permanent position, though a minimum two-year contract may be considered. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 4:00pm, constituting an 8.5-hour workday and a total of 42.5 hours per week. You will receive a competitive hourly rate. SB European shows appreciation to deserving staff through other monetary means if a bonus is not possible in a particular year. We are looking for someone with specific critical skills. You must be able to perform accurate diagnostic assessments promptly using electronic tools, while also having the experience to complement these assessments with your natural senses (smell, sight, hearing, touch) and the ability to 'think outside the box'. You must perform all repairs to high standards of quality and safety. Culturally, we expect you to be personable, friendly, and open to negative feedback with a strong determination to improve. To be offered this role, you must meet the following requirements: you need two to five years of work experience as a technician in the lightweight automotive industry, with proven skills, specifically on European cars. While specific experience with VW, Audi, and Skoda is an advantage, it is not essential. You must be able to demonstrate your diagnostic and critical thinking skills, possess proven competency in computer skills, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Finally, during the interview, you must be able to confidently explain and demonstrate your passion for the automotive industry.
