Wanaka Auto Centre Ltd is seeking an experienced WoF Inspector/Automotive Technician to join our busy workshop in Wanaka. This full-time role of 42.5 hours per week. What you'll be doing is performing WoF inspections, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle faults and issues using the latest tool and equipment, performing scheduled maintenance, inspections and servicing on customer vehicles, testing and repair of all vehicle systems including brakes, suspension and engine components, providing exceptional customer service, high standards and to maintain records of all completed work. You will need proven experience as an Automotive Technician, ideally 3+ years, AVI qualified or the ability to qualify immediately, strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve vehicle issues, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship, good communication skills, be honest and reliable, have a full New Zealand drivers licence, a clean driving record and the ability to operate a range of vehicles and be eligible to work in New Zealand (please only apply if currently living in New Zealand) At Wanaka Auto Centre Ltd we're committed to providing our employees with a supportive and rewarding work environment. This is a full-time, permanent position, though a minimum two-year contract may be considered. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 4:00pm, constituting an 8.5-hour workday and a total of 42.5 hours per week. You will receive a competitive hourly rate. SB European shows appreciation to deserving staff through other monetary means if a bonus is not possible in a particular year. We are looking for someone with specific critical skills. You must be able to perform accurate diagnostic assessments promptly using electronic tools, while also having the experience to complement these assessments with your natural senses (smell, sight, hearing, touch) and the ability to 'think outside the box'. You must perform all repairs to high standards of quality and safety. Culturally, we expect you to be personable, friendly, and open to negative feedback with a strong determination to improve. To be offered this role, you must meet the following requirements: you need two to five years of work experience as a technician in the lightweight automotive industry, with proven skills, specifically on European cars. While specific experience with VW, Audi, and Skoda is an advantage, it is not essential. You must be able to demonstrate your diagnostic and critical thinking skills, possess proven competency in computer skills, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Finally, during the interview, you must be able to confidently explain and demonstrate your passion for the automotive industry.
