We have an opportunity for a Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our friendly Levin workshop. In this role, you will be working on a diverse range of vehicles including heavy trucks, camper vans and heavy machinery. Your day-to-day responsibilities will cover general servicing and maintenance of diesel equipment, diagnosing both mechanical and electrical faults and carrying out major component repairs on clutches, gearboxes and differentials. You will also handle engine rebuilds, preventative maintenance, CoF checking and repair work. Ensuring all repairs are followed by thorough test drives and that service records are accurately maintained will be a key part of your routine. To be successful, you must already be based in New Zealand with relevant local work experience. You will need to have at least two years of relevant automotive experience or are a New Zealand Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic. We are also very open to Light Vehicle Mechanics who are eager to train and make the switch to diesel. You will need strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail and the ability to work reliably to project timeframes. We value team members who work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A Class 1 driving licence is essential, while Class 2, 4 or 5 licences are desirable. Please note that successful applicants must be able to pass a drug test and strictly comply with all health, safety and company policies.
