MTA Launches New 'Local Hero' Award

MTA is thrilled to launch the True Blue Award to celebrate local heroes among its members.

The Motor Trade Association (MTA) has launched a new award aimed at honouring local heroes in the MTA membership.

Named the True Blue Award, the monthly award will recognise those who “go the extra mile” for the community, spokesperson Simon Bradwell says.

“We regularly hear of MTA members doing amazing things, like raising funds for charities such as hospices,” he says.

“MTA members also work with schools and students, support local events, and volunteer for community projects.

“They represent the best of what it means to be an MTA member, and we want to give them a pat on the back and say, ‘good on ya!’”

All MTA members give great service to the community and country by literally keeping Kiwis moving, says Simon.

And while that’s a fulltime commitment for most, a special few go above and beyond for the people around them.

“We really want the industry and public to get their thinking cap on and suggest some worthy winners,” says Simon.

“It’s a very open field, and the judging panel will consider all nominations.”

All MTA members are eligible for the award, and pretty much anyone can nominate a candidate.

Full details are available in the About MTA section, and people can nominate by simply emailing [email protected].
