MTA Industry Awards

MTA members make a significant contribution to both our industry and our community. Join us in celebrating members and their achievements.


Nominations are open for MTA Awards 2025

MTA has three prestigious awards which honour and acknowledge these inspirational individuals. They follow strict criteria and are awarded only to the most deserving recipients.

To nominate a member for the awards below, please fill in the online form (note you must be an MTA member to nominate).

The awards are:

Life Membership 

Recognising an individual’s long-term national service to MTA.

Life Membership may be awarded by the MTA Board to any individual person in recognition of special services to MTA at a national level.

Criteria:
  • A representative of an MTA member business for a period of not less than 10 years
  • Exceptional long-term contribution to MTA that benefits all members
  • Clear support and commitment to the objectives of MTA
  • Well-known and respected by MTA members
  • Impeccable reputation with high standards of honesty and integrity.

Nominations for Life Membership shall be considered by the MTA Board, who announce their decision at the MTA Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Note – this award may be awarded retrospectively to individuals no longer working in industry.

Honorary Membership

Recognising an individual OR business for national service to the automotive industry.

The Honorary Membership Award pays tribute to exceptional contribution to industry. As such, it is open to anyone within the sector. It may be awarded by the MTA Board to any individual or business entity nominated by an MTA member. 

Criteria:
  • Demonstrated outstanding commitment and support to industry, at times putting the betterment of the broad industry ahead of personal gain
  • Significant contribution to the welfare and growth of the automotive industry
  • Commitment to excellence
  • Demonstrated leadership and is well-respected within the industry
  • Impeccable reputation with high standards of honesty and integrity.

Nominations for Honorary Membership shall be considered by the MTA Board who announces their decision at the MTA Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Note – this award is open to MTA members and non-members.

Outstanding Service Award

Recognising individual contribution to a region and/or sector.

The Outstanding Service Award honours people who have freely given their expertise, commitment and leadership to the betterment of their industry sector or region.

Criteria:
  • Must be a representative of a current or past MTA member
  • Has a history and proven record of working to the benefit of MTA in a regional or advisory capacity
  • An active promoter of MTA and its objectives
  • Contributed above and beyond to benefit all respective members
  • Well-respected at a local or sector group level.
