The role entails diagnosing and repairing electrical faults and computer-controlled systems across private, commercial and industrial vehicles, determining necessary repairs, upgrades, or installations and providing accurate cost breakdowns. Responsibilities also include calibrating and testing electrical components, servicing or replacing defective parts, ordering equipment and installing accessories like immobilizers, alarms, radios and air conditioners. The position requires proficiency in testing headlight strength and alignment, using hand and electrical tools safely, adhering to safety guidelines, working with engine management systems, and servicing electronically controlled vehicle systems. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining automotive electrical equipment, interpreting wiring diagrams, diagnosing and repairing electrical and air-conditioning faults, and completing job cards using SAM computer software. Remuneration, ranging from $35 upwards, will be negotiated based on ability and experience, with a 40-hour work week and overtime opportunities at applicable rates.
