Top Honours for Capital City Mazda

Capital City Mazda has been awarded Mazda's highest accolade - Mazda Dealer of the Year for 2009 - at the annual Mazda Dealer Conference, the first time the dealership has received the honour.

Capital City Mazda was graded across a strict set of criteria covering all facets of the dealership's operation.  The dealership achieved all-round excellence in dealer standards, vehicles and parts sales; service department performance and customer satisfaction results.

"The Mazda dealer awards recognize our very best performers across the dealer network.  For each of our dealers, to have outperformed the market in such challenging times is a feat to be proud of," said Andrew Clearwater, managing director, Mazda New Zealand.

"We are thrilled with all of our dealers, particularly the team at Capital City.  They've gone that one step further, excelling in all areas of service and this award is a credit to them."

Dealer Principal for Capital City Mazda, Hamish Jacob said "Winning this award wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of our people. We're always striving to provide the best service available and are very proud to represent Mazda.  Having vehicles that you're passionate about and a great team behind you certainly makes coming to work each day a
pleasure."

For the awards, the Mazda network is divided into three groups: Metropolitan Dealers, Provincial City Dealers and Rural Dealers.  The top two scoring dealerships in each group become Dealer Performance Award winners, and the top scoring overall dealership is named Mazda Dealer of the Year.

Other winners on the night were Metropolitan Dealer South Auckland Motors, Provincial City Dealers Macaulay Motors (Invercargill), Palmfeild Motors (Palmerston North) and Rural Dealers McKendry Mazda (Blenheim) and Wilksbrooke Mazda (Te Awamutu).

The awards were a culmination of an outstanding year for Mazda Dealers who all had a stellar year in 2009.  The company further consolidated its fourth position in the market posting a record 8.1 per cent market share for the year and capping off ten years of consecutive growth.

The outstanding result came during one of the worst years on record for the New Zealand new vehicle industry.
